Have you tried to get the music, photos and videos off by going to the music tab down the left hand side of iTunes and putting them onto your desktop and doing the same for the photos and videos?
If not I think this will work for you

Ok do you have any apps or other things stored on your new iPhone?
As I would recommend a DFU factory reset to try to resolve the way iTunes is recognizing the device,

Hi can you tell me what iPhone it is and what version of software you are using;
You can find out which software by going to the phone tab when phone is plugged into computer, it will be listed under version!
